Apostle Fred Kisubi – The presence of God
Moments like this to come and love the Lord are precious. I pray that we will not remain the same. The word God holds the potential to raise your form of expression to an elevated and more profound realm of liberty.
Sovereign Lord, I give you praise and exalt your holy name. In you, we live, move, and have our well-being. Without you, we can do nothing. Lord, we pray that you will ignite us, revive us, edify us, and cause us to rise higher than ever before. Bring us into the realm of supernatural performance. We stand against every work of the enemy designed against this hour and terminate their effects in the name of Jesus. Master, we promise you that when all is done, the fame and honor shall be accorded to you in, Amen.
We begin with Exodus 33:11.
11 The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua, son of Nun, did not leave the tent. 12 Moses said to the Lord, “You have been telling me, ‘Lead these people,’ but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have found favor with me.’ 13 If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.” 14 The Lord replied, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” 15 Then Moses said to him, “If your presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. 16 How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish your people from all the other people on the face of the earth and me?” 17 And the Lord said to Moses, “I will do the very thing you have asked, because I am pleased with you and I know you by name.” 18 Then Moses said, “Now show me your glory.” 19 And the Lord said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.” 21 Then the Lord said, “There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. 22 When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. 23 Then I will remove my hand, and you will see my back, but my face must not be seen.”
Moses had no legal standing to experience the realities of God because of the state humanity was in. The Bible says by the grace of God he found favor and thus started to enjoy privileges in the realm of the spirit.
Exodus 33:12-13 You have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have found favor with me.’ 13 If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you.
So Moses understood that there was standing in the grace before God and asked to experience more. The Lord placed him in Christ the Rock. Our Master Jesus is the Rock of Ages. The Apostle Paul described him as the cornerstone that was rejected. Peter and Paul say that Christ is the foundation” that was laid, and there is no other foundation that will ever be laid.
The Bible says that Jesus was the rock that followed the children of Israel and gave them access to water.
1 Corinthians 10:4: “All drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.”
So, the Lord placed Moses in Christ that he might taste some of the benefits and privileges of salvation even though the dispensation had not yet come. I want to communicate to us about the reality of the presence of God. The Bible tells us that when God created man (Genesis 1:26.), he created him in his own image after his own likeness, and let us give him the right to reign on Earth.
Genesis 1:26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
Image relates to inner quality or inner characteristics, and likeness is related to class. We have animals; we have plants; and then we have human beings that were made in the class of God. I always tell people that the scientists group humans in the Animal Kingdom, but we forgive them because they cannot see the kingdom where we come from. We come from the kingdom of God, which is our origin; we descended here to express the realities in the invisible.
When sin entered the world, that image was affected, and in turn, the likeness of God in humanity became distorted. We were no longer able to express ourselves in the dimension of glory that God had intended. Man was no longer able to be and do what God had created him for.
Men would sense the potential, but when they started to implement the ideas or things in their hearts, the results would not turn out the way they expected. God, in his graciousness, sends his son to liberate us; he gives to all that our spirits need to be able to operate according to the original standard.
When God created man, he gave him his own nature. God then placed man in what we call the Garden of Eden, an environment controlled and saturated by the influence of divinity.
The word Eden is interpreted as a dwelling place; it is also interpreted as a place of delight, and Ezekiel calls it the garden of his presence. saturated by the realities of God, it was an environment that gave humanity the highest opportunity to release and operate in the divine order.
When Jesus comes, he comes to restore us to the image of the nature of God. Through faith in Christ, you become a new creature or a new creation. As a new creature, then you are required to begin operating the ways of the new creature.
Among the things that Jesus restored is the environment in which a human spirit was created to live. When sin came, man fled the presence of God. In his fallen state, the presence of God would only bring him to guilt and condemnation.
Jesus restores you to the image of God. and the environment, where your spirit can express itself fully. He paid the price for sin and sins so that our conscience will be purged of guilt and shame. This enables you and me to come into the presence of God focused on his goodness and glory and not our limitations and failure.
Free from sin consciousness, we are able to draw near and see the power and the greatness of God. Now, with a renewed spirit, man is able to receive all that is coming from God in Christ. Man is able to connect with the mind of God. Jesus gives you his righteousness, his holiness, and a new status in life that allows you to express yourself in the presence of God.
This is made possible by the Holy Spirit. The Bible tells us that where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
2 Corinthians 3:17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
By his words, the Lord changes your mindset, mentality, and attitudes. Through His word, the Lord removes any limitation that comes from incorrect theologies and ideologies.
We are spirits, permitted to live in the spiritual realm, but we also have the ability to live in the physical world. God has given us keys that can unlock the realities in the realm of the spirit, and one of those keys is the element of faith.
Galatians 6:15 and Galatians Chapter 5:6 speak of two things.
- Galatians 6:15 For in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything but a new creation.
- Galatians 5:6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.
To enjoy the liberties God has ordained for you, it’s important to understand the basic dynamics that are involved in the realm of New Creation. Becoming a “new creation” brings you to a new beginning in and with God. The first thing that counts is your new identity; the second is faith.
Faith is a living force that comes from the word God; it is the power that connects you to the realities in the realm of the spirit. Faith is the opposite of fear. Faith works by our confidence in God’s love. You and I are spirits; we are to connect to the spiritual realm and see what God is doing and do the same in this earthly realm.
Through our new identity in Christ, we learn to see in the first dimension of creation and replay in the second dimension of creation the things revealed. Nothing that happens here on Earth that has not yet happened in the realm of the spirit, good or bad, first appears in the spirit realm.
The image of Christ in you makes you a legal custodian of HIS authority here on earth. God shows you what is in the spirit through your dreams and visions and the prophetic utterances that you may use the same in your warfare. As a legal custodian of God’s authority on earth. You will stand and say, “I refused, or I called it forth!”.
Jesus has restored our spirits to perfect function, though we are still in the body of limitation. Our spirits always stretch to get beyond the limitations of our bodies. Some people say, “Now we are going to do spiritual things and later on do the usual things,” but God does not want us to behave like that; he wants you to be spiritual at all times.
To be spiritual does not mean that you mechanically close your eyes and do things that show that you are entering the spirit. God wants you to be spiritual going about your daily activities, be it at home or at work.
Galatians 5:25 The Bible says that if you live in the spirit, then you will not satisfy the desire of the flesh. Since we live by the spirit, let us keep in step with the spirit.
Amos 37:3 tells us that surely the Lord God will do nothing, unless he has revealed his secrets unto his servants, the prophets. Now, you may think you’re not a prophet, but in the New Testament, the Bible tells us that you are on the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets. In Christ, you have the ability to connect with the prophetic insight and know things in the invisible realm. You can operate in the authority and the wisdom God has bestowed in his word.
These human bodies limit our spirits from operating fully in the freedom that God prepared. The Lord wants us to come to a place when these bodies are no longer a limitation but an advantage. So, he gives us the spirit he gives, faith, and he allows us to engage in dimensions of liberty so that we will express ourselves the way we are supposed to.
Liberty in your conscience; you’re free from the consciousness of sin, the guilt. Liberty in the mind , are free from the deceptions of this world the deceit of this world. Liberty in the will that our submissions will be under God Alone; we will not be compelled by the compulsions of Satan.Liberty in our emotions means that we will not be controlled by temper or bitterness but that the love of God will find expression in our lives. Liberty, you can now decide to worship God. Not because you are desiring Him to do something for you, but because you willingly acknowledge the greatness of God that comes to our spirits.
We begin to gaze at the sovereignty and personality of God, and through the written word, we can see how great he is. Jesus was talking to the Samaritan woman, and he said that the Lord is looking for those who are in spirit and in truth.
Worshiping the spirit according to the revelations that you have in your spirit and worshiping truth based on that which has been revealed in Scripture. There are times you worship and have no experience of the very words that you are using to honor the Lord with them.
You say to the Lord, “God, you are the one who is sustaining this world, but you have no experience of that. However, because it is written, you can still declare it. Better still, you can also experience the love of God and the goodness of God and then say from an assured heart, “Oh Lord, you are so good. You are so good.” Your spirit attests to that sometimes when our words cannot fully express that which we feel.
Man was created to live in and to walk in the presence of God. Your spirit functions at a higher level when you come to a place of understanding. This is why the devil interferes with the Ministry of Teaching; he knows that this is an avenue that opens doors to life in the Spirit.
You can be in a situation where you don’t understand what is happening around you, but when you come in the presence of God, you begin to know; you begin to understand, perceive, and connect with the realities in the invisible realm.
God invites you to live and walk in the spirit. The Bible invites us to pray in the spirit. Our highest levels of expression are in the spirit, and the victories that we attain in the realm of the spirit will be reflected in the physical dimension.
Prayer so that we can sharpen ourselves and position ourselves to understand what is happening. God lives outside time, but he has ordained that the children of men live in seasons and times. When you don’t perceive this as your season, you don’t perceive the timings of God; you miss out on the divine performance. A season may become tough because you did not understand the last season, and you do not understand the coming season.
God gave the Holy Spirit to come and dwell within us so that we could communicate and relate with Him. The Bible says that in the presence of God there is fullness of joy; there is rest that is unusual; it starts to surround your life; there is a distinction that begins to associate with all you are and do. Events can happen, but because you are in the presence of God, they do not overwhelm you.
I was praying for somebody last week; she later testified that as I prayed, there were demons in her telling her to run away; every time she said each time she would be near me, fire would burn the spirits that were tormenting her. Now, I for one could not see any fire, but the demons were witnessing the fire. When the presence of God is up, the influence of divine presence can expand. What smell do you think they will pick up from you? God.
It is my prayer that we shall know how to stir up or activate the presence of God in our lives. The first thing is to take time to study the word. There are times when you feel so dry it appears as if divinity has taken a flight. Jesus speaking to his disciples in John 6:63, The words that I have spoken to you are spirit, and they are life.”
Life is an activation power, so as you read the word, you are enabling divine realities in your life. Reading and studying the word can change your internal atmosphere and mental perspectives.
Two: Be deliberate to fellowship with the Holy Spirit through prayer, mostly praying in lounges. Prayer is not only a system of reception, but it is also a system of edification. Pray to activate and build your inner capacity to fly above natural and spiritual limitations.
Moses understood the influence in the presence of God, yet we have greater privileges than Moses ever had. We can through worship, minister. Through our ministries to God, He, in turn, attends to our needs, ushering us into a place of rest. Liberty signifies a venue of engagement, a context where we are afforded the opportunity to express ourselves unreservedly. The human spirit is intended to thrive in the intimate presence of God.
