In the old day they used to arrange marriages, you then had to co-exist with somebody who is not interested in being with you. We don’t want your co-existence with God to be like that. Your words being suggestive that you honor him, but your heart far from Him.
I grew up in the village, Christmas and Easter, were opportunities to dress up. On these occasions, my uncle would lay mats at the back of his Bed-ford Truck. All the kids would pile into the back for the ride to church. Comforted in the knowledge that there was food after church service, we endured the bumpy ride and all the church protocols just to get to the meal. Likewise, we don’t want to be interacting with God on superficial protocols, and that is what I want to bring to our attention.
Many of us want the relationship with God to be sustained at that level of “what God is doing for you” not “what God is doing in you.” That is a big percentage of believers in the church today. When situations are difficult, we are devoted to the Lord. Enduring all manner of religious protocol in search of relief. Most of us are unaware of the work that needs to be done in us.
There is a difference between “the Word of life” and “the word for a job” or deliverance. Many are hearing these things for the first time and didn’t know that the word has specific functions.
Proverb 24:4 says “Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established;4 By knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches”.
The problem is, we don’t want the word of God that builds, we don’t want the word of God that establishes. We want the one that gives and fills with all sort of precious riches.
Think about it this way, you don’t want to have your valuable 80-inch television screen in a mud and waddle hut. At least 90% of Christians don’t know that what we are focused on is the knowledge for furnishings, the knowledge for riches, the knowledge a promotion. I’m not saying those things are bad, do not mishear me.
“By wisdom, a house is built!” what you need is, “the word of life”. It is the word that builds. The word that builds the Christ character in you, the word that reveals Christ to you and as a result makes you like Christ.
It is appointed for each one of us to exit, this world. When that day comes, who are you going to face? What sort of conversation are you going to have with Him? Are you even confident to transition to glory? Understand the futility of Life.
My grandmother left me property in her will, so one day many years later, I went to see “the things”. The people in the village boldly asked me “which things?”. They had taken over all that my grandmother had left me. I said it was okay! Kept my peace and walked away. I am not discouraging your pursuit for things, but you need to have a balanced idea of how futile possessions are.
So, by wisdom a house is built that’s “the Word of Life”. The word that builds your spirit. The word that gives you confidence every time you put your head on your pillow, you know I’m sleeping in the Lord.
The book of proverbs mentions wisdom a lot. In the new in the New Testament, Jesus says “a greater than Solomon is here” and then the scripture finally says, “Christ is the wisdom of God”!. (1 Corinthians 1:24
Immortal invisible, the only wise and true God. (1Timothy 1:17)
Again, it says, “In him dwells the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Colossians 2:3).
Everything God does has a signature of wisdom. When we say Christ the wisdom of God, we mean it’s Christ who shows you how God works.
For example, if you want to know how God heals, it is revealed through Christ. If you want to know how God delivers us from Darkness demons, and from bondage, it is in the revelation of Christ. So, you can see why Revelation and wisdom go together.Think of wisdom as that treasure behind the curtain and revelation as that unveiling of the curtain. By wisdom a house is built, and your house is your spirit.
Our dreams reveal the reality of our spirit’s condition. You may dream that the windows on our house are wooden, without bugler proofing. In reality the house you live in has bugler proofing, the dream picture is the quality of your inner life. The Lord is giving you a spiritual picture of your life.
By wisdom a house is built, that means through the revelation of Christ does your spiritual life begin. Salvation is the construction of one’s spirit.
Matthew chapter 7:24-27 talks about two houses. One is built on sand and the other is built on a rock. Both are subject to the wind and the storms. It is the house built on sand that is described as having a great fall.
At times our lives can be like cheap suitcases, you know what happens to cheap suitcases!, they fall apart. There are times when our lives are like that not established, a house that is not built. Could be your house ?,A house built on Sand?.
Matthew 7:24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”
The house built on Sand falls when it is faced with misfortune. A great falling when misfortunes strike means there are foundational issues you are not resolving.
Salvation doesn’t propose that we should encourage you to fail because there’s a remedy for failure. Rather we should get built up so that we are less failure prone. That’s sensitive, most people at this point will say, “…I’ve already Failed”!.
I’m trying to tell you that your challenge is structural, you have not understood Christ the wisdom of God,and that’s why you may have cycles of failure. When we fail, there are remedies, but that doesn’t mean we should become “remedy addicts”.
Jesus says there are “those who hear my words and do them”. Their lives are like a house that is built on a rock. Jesus describes such and says, “the WISE MAN…”. There are those of us who refuse to hear, those who don’t have the willpower to pursue, then there are those who are ignorant of the importance of doing, most of us are in different categories.
The same applies when it comes to sin or disobedience. It is a matter of heart attitudes. Why did David, who committed greater offenses come get off with an apparent slap on the wrist, compared to King Saul who did what appeared to have a rational?
The Bible is about attitudes. People think sins are about doings, no!. Sins are about attitudes. There are things most of us are still getting away with because we’re a sweetheart. Then there are things other people cannot get away with because they know better.
So, by wisdom a house is built. That’s “the Word of Life”, the word that builds you, the word that builds your spirit man. It is the word that conditions, positions and locates your spirit. Wisdom builds a house, and understanding establishes it.
I have to give examples to help us understand. Let’s say you’ve got a headache or a toothache and the scripture say. “By his stripes I am healed”.(Isaiah 53:5) that is the wrong place to start. ( Isa 53:5) is a word that furnishes your life with healing and not the wisdom that builds your house. Why is that a wrong place to start? Because there were no preparations for that word to work. The error is that you have not prepared the ground for that word to work.
When you say “with his stripes, I’m healed!” The devil through what you feel is telling you are not healed. Through your thoughts, he’s telling you how you don’t qualify for healing. There’s a word that is missing between “by his stripes we are healed” and your actual deliverance from the physical pain. That word is often the word of wisdom, the word of Christ,” The Word of Life”.
In my first incursions praying for people, I didn’t know what the devil sounded like. Sometimes I see people’s faces and I know they are listening to the devil. I’m using a long route. I know human beings, if you list specifics of what the devil sounds like, they will limit the enemies voice to the things you list.
In banking, they teach you to spot the counterfeit by acquainting you with what genuine currency looks and feels like. They don’t line up counterfeit currency. They simply get you well acquainted with the genuine article. That way, with ease, you learn to spot the counterfeit at first glance. Like wise, I want to give you Christ, so that you start identifying everything that is Antichrist.
You may be pursuing healing or a miracle and have started praying, but have no response the moment the devil contends with you and says you don’t qualify. Every time you pray, there is a contention of voices for which you have not found a response. You’re mistaking those voices for your own thoughts.
The Bible says, “If you had faith as little as a mustard seed, you would say to this mountain be uprooted and be cast into the sea, and it would.” (Matthew 17:20). True you have that, Faith; the problem is there is a “counter-faith” in your system through your ignorance. A “counter-faith”, it’s an unbelief system through your ignorance or bad knowledge.
You’re looking for healing, that is spiritual warfare. The first thing you need to do is prepare your spirit. Do not to rush to get the word of healing, prepare your heart. Now that sounds strange!
Spending time meditating on “the Words of Life”. In this way, you train yourself to have a response when the enemy contends with your faith. As you meditate,you are practicing and exercising your self in defeating the devil. The grave is the only place you start at the top, so don’t be afraid to start practicing meditating on the Words of Life one small step at a time.
Meditate on the word of life, that’s the word that emphasizes your union with Christ. That’s the word that gives you a sense of belonging to God. The word that shows you that there’s no enmity between you and God. It is the word that shows you that everything you are trying to get is yours legally.
What I’m trying to bring to your attention is this. if you are not spiritual you cannot engage in spiritual battles, you’ll be as one beating the air. Meditate so that you are not walking as one who is speculating walking blind. The Bible says” the word is a lamp unto our feet” (Psalms 199:105), it is light”. Christ is that light!, You’re not walking blind. Know what you’re contending against.
Most of our contentions are on the inside, they’re not external. Most of our contentions are something that’s working in us, some kind of signature that attracts demonic influence, and those are always informed by ignorance. I want you to understand you are missing the most important base of operations and that is your spirit. Your house, which needs to be built by wisdom, the revelation of Christ.
We’re praying for healing, but there are contentions that we don’t have answers to. We don’t even know that the devil is speaking and contending with us. What you’re not discussing is your vulnerabilities!, yet the real damage is done on the inside!.
We tend to ask” what’s wrong with you”! . The real question ought to be, “what’s wrong IN you”. Why are you listening to the word and failing to hear the message therein?. You see, there’s something wrong in you. There are people who are sitting in churches where every Sunday, their Pastor is preaching treasure, but they hear nothing. What’s wrong in you?,Wisdom is absent. The revelation of Christ, the revelation of Christ as the propitiation for your sins, the revelation of Christ as your righteousness!.
People who are not spiritual are tormented by what they don’t have. When the Holy Ghost through the word of wisdom has not oriented you to God, you’ll be in every worldly pursuit. Material possessions will remove you from the “real estate” where the “real stuff” is happening, your Spirit.
Spirituality should be able to guide you through life’s choices, when you built up you, know how to moderate yourself and exist in a structure without unnecessary cravings.
Let’s say you are pursuing a job, if you are too obsessed with the opportunity, you will miss spiritual guidance. You mean well, you have a word for the job and are believing God for the job. The problem is you’ve not considered the implications. You may be a family person; you’ve not thought through the long-term effects of certain jobs and locations.it is that quietness along with the liveliness of spirit that helps you to evaluate opportunities.
Delve into the word that builds you up. The Bible helps us to see that “the word of the Lord is living and active powerful, it’s a double-edged sword”. (Hebrews 4:12). It helps us to know what’s going on inside, it helps us identify wrong thinking, where we are ignorant it helps and to know what’s going on in the spirit. It helps us to know what God is up to. There are certain “words” that help us to orient towards life in the spirit, the Bible says “I’m not of the flesh I am of the spirit, if so be that the spirit of Christ dwells in me.” (Romans 8:9).
You need these words, praying in tongues should be putting us into or returning us back into the spirit and “the Word of Life”. Most of us have been praying in tongues, but because we don’t have the word of life, we get into a spirit that is not built up. We arrive with furnishing and find no suitable house to place them. The house was never built. By wisdom a house is built.
Let us pray.Lord, we bless you for this time, how gracious you have been to us through the power of the spirit. Thank you for wonderful days perfect of Revelation, days of understanding days of wisdom, days of insight days of establishment, days of being built up in the holy ghost. Days when the spirit is building us up into the fullness of the stature of Christ Jesus. We give you praise Lord Father, thank you for abundant provisions of Grace.
